Amazon EKS Anywhere is a new deployment option for Amazon EKS that allows users to construct and manage Kubernetes clusters on customer-managed infrastructure that is supported by AWS. Customers may now operate Amazon EKS Anywhere on their own on-premises infrastructure using VMware vSphere, with support for more deployment targets coming soon, including bare metal support in 2022.

Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) on-prem is hybrid cloud software that provides GKE to on-premises data centres. You can construct, manage, and update Kubernetes clusters in your on-premises environment using GKE on-prem. You can see and sign in to your on-premises and on-cloud Kubernetes clusters from the same Google Cloud Console interface using Connect. GKE on-premises operates on a vSphere 6.5 or 6.7 Update 3 environment in your data centre. VMware’s server virtualization software is called vSphere. GKE on-premises manages your clusters using VMware’s vCenter Server.

Azure Kubernetes Service on Azure Stack HCI is an on-premises version of Azure Kubernetes Service, which automates the scaling of containerized workloads. Azure Kubernetes Service is now available on Azure Stack HCI and Windows Server 2019 Datacenter, allowing you to quickly start hosting Linux and Windows containers in your datacenter.
